Hot Air Balloon Shoot-Out
Please come out to join us for the Third Annual Hot Air Balloon-Shoot Out. Twenty beautiful hot air balloons will
take to the skies over Carson City in competition as they give a show to entertain festival goers young and old.
Jump out of bed early on Saturday and Sunday mornings to see the balloons take off from around the countryside (at
least two miles away from the launch site) as they prepare to maneuver over pre-determined targets and throw bean
bags for scoring by our judges. Remember to maintain a safe distance from all targets, as the baggies that are
thrown by the balloon pilots will be falling at a high rate of speed and could cause injury.
If you aren’t a morning person, come out on Friday and Saturday nights for the mass launches scheduled at Carson
City-Crystal High School Complex. You bring your family and friends, and we’ll bring the balloons and the
entertainment…LIVE Bands, and “Entertainment by Tim”. We’ll have a little something for everyone when you join
us at the festival launch site.
Don’t forget your non-perishable food items…every one item donated Saturday night will get you a raffle ticket
for the $100 cash prize drawing during the Glow Saturday night!!!
Hot Air Balloon Glow
One of the most popular events for the hot air ballooning crowd is the evening “Glow”. Saturday Night is when our
launch site will fill with our beautiful hot air balloons, inflated and standing at attention. Upon the watchful
and entertaining guidance of announcer Tom Maynard, help us count five…four…three…two…one…GLOW!!!
This unique display will light up the night sky like ornaments glowing on a Christmas tree. Don’t forget your
blankets and your cameras…this is one event you don’t want to miss.
Children and adults alike will marvel at these massive beauties. Come and enjoy these treasures that Carson City
