| The community picnic is a Frontier Days tradition that gets better every year. It is a great time for friends and neighbors to get together and celebrate the joys of living in a small town. The picnic is held every year in Haradine Park and is considered the official start to the Frontier Days weekend. The picnic this year will begin at 5:00 p.m. on May 31, 2018. Carson City Village Market is our proud sponsor of this wonderful event.|
During the picnic, there will be time for the kids to play on the park's wonderful facilities. Throughout the evening there will be music by DJ Dave Klienhardt. At 6:30 p.m., make sure you head to the banks of Fish Creek to watch the ever-popular Duck Race. Be sure you purchase your Duck Race ticket from a committee member before the race begins. Inflate-a-fun will be on hand with a bounce house and giant slide free to all in attendance. Kids won't want to miss it!
Also at the Community Picnic, make sure you and your team sign up for the Community Scavenger Hunt. Teams can get the list of rules and the list of 'items' to find throughout the weekend. The Scavenger Hunt will take place throughout the weekend. Deadline will be 4:30 p.m. on Saturday night, but you don't have to wait until then. There will be a drop off box waiting for you under the tent adjacent to the launch field. You can drop off your 'items' any time throughout the weekend. When your team is finished, you can place your finished scavenger hunt off under the tent adjacent to the launch field. Make sure your name and contact information is included. This is a great way to get involved in Frontier Days.
