Each year the committee takes on the task of creating a schedule of events that will be enjoyed by the entire community. We strive to make the entire festival weekend FREE to our community and to be very family friendly. You will notice Frontier Days 2021 has a different look to the weekend.  With safety in mind, we have scheduled events that we feel can be done while being socially distanced while keeping everyone safe.  We invite you to get out get involved.  Try something new.  Enjoy the weekend.

We encourage everyone to stay safe.  Keep socially distanced and please use the hand sanitizing stations/mask when appropriate.

We welcome you to Carson City Frontier Days 2021 and hope that you enjoy yourself throughout the weekend.

Community Picnic

Thursday Night Kick-Off

Picnic Water Side

The community picnic is a Frontier Days tradition that gets better every year. It is a great time for friends and neighbors to get together and celebrate the joys of living in a small town. The picnic is held every year in Haradine Park and is considered the official start to the Frontier Days weekend. The picnic this year will begin at 5:00 p.m. on June 3, 2021. Carson City Village Market is our proud sponsor of this wonderful event.

During the picnic, there will be time for the kids to play on the park's wonderful facilities.  There will also be a craft for the kids to make, free of charge, while supplies last.  Throughout the evening there will be music and plenty of activities to take do. At 6:30 p.m., make sure you head to the banks of Fish Creek to watch the ever-popular Duck Race. Be sure you purchase your Duck Race ticket from a committee member before the race begins.

Also at the Community Picnic, make sure you and your team sign up for the Community Scavenger Hunts.  This year there will be two different hunts.  One hunt is our traditional scavenger hunt aimed for teens and adults.  Teams can get the list of rules and the list of 'items' to find throughout the weekend.  The other scavenger hunt is aimed for elementary aged kids as well.  Both Scavenger Hunts will take place throughout the weekend. Deadline will be 4:30 p.m. on Saturday night, but you don't have to wait until then. There will be a drop off box waiting for you under the tent adjacent to the launch field. You can drop off your 'items' any time throughout the weekend. Make sure your name and contact information is included. This is a great way to get involved in Frontier Days.

Buckaroo & Grand Parades

In keeping with tradition, Saturday afternoon (June 5, 2021) will be filled with the Buckaroo and Grand Parades. Bring your lawn chairs and/or blanket and line the streets of Carson City to enjoy one of the favorite activities of our festival weekend.

Buckaroo Parade Starts at 1:00 p.m.

We are encouraging all of the Carson City's Buckaroos to join in the fun of the Buckaroo Parade on Saturday, June 5th at 1:00 p.m. Line-up will be at 12:45p.m. at Michigan One Community Credit Union.  The parade will begin there and will continue down Main Street, ending in the Post Office parking lot. There will be a contest for the entry best representing Frontier Days. Grab your cowboy hat and come join in the fun. The winning buckaroo will walk away with great prize.

Grand Parade Starts at 1:30 p.m.

The Grand Parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Line-up for the Grand Parade begins at the corner of Division and Garfield Streets at 1:00. The parade will be traveling down Williams Street to Main Street making it's way the length of Main Street and turning north on First Street making it's way up past the Laurel's of Carson City.  We would ask all participants in the parade to please make sure there is a sign/banner with your company or entry's name on it to help our announcer recognize your entry.
As a reminder to our spectators, please stay a safe distance from the moving parade vehicles when crossing the road or retrieving items that are given out during the parade.  We want you to enjoy the parade, but to stay safe.

Food Truck Friday

We are excited for our first annual Food Truck Friday.  Haradine Park will be the host of a variety of Food Trucks on Friday, June 4th from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.  We invite the entire community to head to the park to enjoy the food from our visiting trucks.  The park is a great location for this!  Grab a bite and sit under the pavilion or along the banks of Fish Creek and enjoy a terrific lunch.  There is something for everyone.

Check back for updates on what trucks will be joining us this year.
