Schedule
Health and Safety Day

Carson City Frontier Days, Inc. is proud to bring back Kids' Health and Safety Day. This year marks the 14th year of offering this event to our community. This wonderful community event will be held Saturday, June 1st from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Carson City-Crystal High School complex.
There will be four sections to Health and Safety Day this year. Our Safety at Home area will highlight ways families can protect themselves at hom. Stations in this area will focus on Fire Safety, Home Hazards, Gun Safety, Poison Control, Screen Time, and Pet Health and Safety. These stations will offer participants activities, safety plans and items to take with them to help make daily life at home a little safer.
Another section you will see at the event is Safety in Your Neighborhood. Stations in this area will include Traffic Safety, Wheeled Sport Safety, Playground Safety, Water Safety, and Going to the Doctor. Visitors will also be able to have the opportunity to visit with health and safety professionals from our community. The Carson City Police Department and Fire Departments will be in attendance with their vehicles for participants to investigate as well as the smoke house to practice proper procedures in an emergency. The Montcalm County Ambulance and Rescue teams will also be in attendance to see what would happen in the case of an emergency.
The third area for participants to visit will be the Personal Safety Area. This will focus on individual health and safety. The stations will include Food and Nutrition, Food Allergy Awareness, and Personal Safety Tips. Dentists from Donohue and Donohue will be in attendance to educate participants of oral health and healthy teeth. The LEEP program (Law Enforcement Education Program) will also be back this year to create a kit containing a CD with a digital photograph, fingerprints, height, weight, and other pertinent information for each child. This kit can be used by the police and the Amber Alert system to bring missing children home safely. This is a FREE program and a station you will not want to miss.
The last area to visit will highlight Safety this summer. With the opening of the new Splash Pad at Fort Frontier this summer, we wanted to devote some time during the Kids’ Health and Safety event to get you ready for the new park addition. Make sure you visit the ‘Splash in to Summer’ area to spin the prize wheel to win an item to use that the Splash Pad through out the summer. This area will also have information and safety tips for the Splash Pad.
All stations will be packed full of information, activities, and items that put health and safety as a top priority. There will be plenty of items for participants to take with them which includes bike helmets, smoke detectors, electrical safety devices, activity books, toothbrushes, stickers, posters, gun locks, painting sheets, and much more.
Make sure you stop by the drawing table to register for the following items: bicycles, summer fun toys, safety packages, and more. Approximately every 20 minutes, names will be drawn for these prizes.
This is an event that is a must for all families in the Carson City Area. We are looking forward to seeing you there.
