Carson City Frontier Days, Inc. is excited to announce that Kaylee Byrnes, daughter of Martin and Colleen Byrnes of Carson City, has been crowned Frontier Days Queen 2023. Kaylee is a junior at Carson City-Crystal High School, where she is a member of the Varsity Softball Team, Varsity Bowling Team, the Marching Band, the Concert Band, the Jazz Band, the Quiz Bowl Team, the Writing Team, and the National Honor Society. She has received many honors, including the 2020-2021 Bowling Team MVP, the 2022-2023 Bowling Coach’s Award, the 2022-2023 Bowling Team Captain, the March 2023 CC-C Student of the Month, and 2023 MSAC Honors Band.
Kaylee enjoys volunteering at Dalis to the Rescue as a dog walker and kennel cleaner. She is very involved in community activities, mentoring for the CC-C Softball Youth League, volunteering at the CC-C Veteran’s Dinner, and directing traffic during the Frontier Days 5K. Many of you may have seen her making pizza, subs, or salads at Main Street Pizza. She likes working there because, “we get along and work together, like one big happy family.”
When she isn’t busy at school, work, or playing softball for her travel team, Kaylee enjoys diamond painting, crafting, strumming her acoustic guitar, playing tenor saxophone or clarinet, and camping.
Kaylee has aspirations to attend college to become a forensic scientist. She also aspires to continue her bowling career as the collegiate level. Kaylee has a kind-hearted nature and wishes to be a foster parent when she gets older because she believes that every kid deserves a home. She also wishes to foster animals, too.
Kaylee will be featured in the Grand Parade during Frontier Days, as well as attending many of the other events. During her reign, she will be required to complete a total of 25 hours of community service, as well as attend engagements scheduled throughout the year in Carson City and the surrounding areas. She will do a fine job representing Carson City until she crowns the next Frontier Days Queen in the spring of 2024.
