Carson City Frontier Days, Inc. is pleased to announce that Rachel Stoudt, daughter of Corvin and Trina Stoudt of Crystal, has been crowned Frontier Days Queen for 2017. Rachel is a junior at Carson City-Crystal High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, the United States Achievement Academy, and the Varsity Softball Team. She spends time volunteering at the Carson City Public Library and Toys for Tots. Rachel was described as caring and compassionate by her teacher, Mr. Bollinger. He also commented that Rachel is an exceptional student with a positive attitude and friendly disposition. During her spare time, Rachel enjoys baking and scrapbooking. She plans to attend college to study sonography.|
Rachelís essay for the Frontier Days Queen Contest stole the hearts of the judges. She had to respond to the following question: While at the beach you decide to write a message in a bottle. What would it say and who would you like to find it? Rachel wrote about slowing down and enjoying life, especially with family and friends and not letting important moments pass you by. She wrote that she hoped someone that needed to hear those words would find it. Other questions that Rachel had to answer showed her love for living in a small town, her appreciation regarding her education, and the difficult issue of peer pressure facing young people today. All of her answers illustrated that she is a very mature and level-headed young lady.
Rachel will be busy attending many events during the Frontier Days Festival, where she will be spotlighted in the Grand Parade on June 3. During her reign, Rachel will be required to complete a total of 25 hours of community service, as well as attend engagements scheduled throughout the year in Carson City and the surrounding areas. She will conclude her reign next spring when she crowns the Frontier Days Queen of 2018.
Carson City Frontier Days, Inc. would like to thank Independent Bank of Carson City for sponsoring this yearís Frontier Days Queen Contest. We would also like to thank the 2016 Frontier Days Queen, Marissa Wing, for all of her hard work and dedication to the crown during her reign.
